I checked the mail today. I acquired 3 letters. I’m lucky to ever get one. Needless to say I was excited. Then I looked at who they were from: THREE Colleges sent a letter addressed to me. I excitedly ripped them open and read the letters. Each one said they had “noticed my wonderful academics” and “been noticed by admissions.” Each one asked me to take a survey and include their school when I look for colleges. My excitement died quickly as I realized they hadn’t actually noticed me. It made me feel very unsuccessful and unimportant though I have a 4.8 GPA and have done nothing but perform well in Theatre.
